Lori and Trevor got married on a day when it called for thunderstorms and showers but instead the sun was out to give them the perfect day to get married. They were married in a lovely ceremony in Drumbo and then their reception was in Burford. But after the ceremony and before the reception we relaxed and took pictures at a secluded area where there was a nice old bridge for the background. On a side note I’d like to say thank you to Sarah for helping me second shoot at such short notice. You did a great job.

Lori and Trevor, thank you for letting us capture your special day. I hope your honeymoon in Spain was fabulous. I’ll make it there one day…one day…

At their engagement session, Trevor joked about having some pictures done in a canoe, Lori said “yeah right” …but on his wedding day, he lucked out and there was one there by the bridge so they couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

Serena + Seputro • Civil Wedding Ceremony

Last year Serena contacted me while working and living in Australia. She was coming back to Canada for a few weeks this March to make her marriage legal in Canada, so she was looking for a photographer who would take some casual and fun pictures on the day of the civil ceremony. I gladly accepted. When I met up with them, Serena and Seputro were married two weeks prior at a traditional ceremony in Indonesia. I could only imagine what a wedding in Indonesia would be like!

That afternoon, it was pouring rain and extremely cold so most of the pictures were taken indoors at the Charles Inn (at Niagara-on-the-Lake). You wouldn’t have noticed the weather with these two laughing and smiling away the entire afternoon…it was quite contagious actually.

Safe travels back home to Australia and I wish you two all the best. Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day.

We shall call it ‘Ninja’ for now…

Ok, ok, I know I’ve been a bad blogger, but I promise I will blog my trip to Japan very soon. But here is some news from the office of Lisa Kwan Images, and I’m at a point where I can’t hide it anymore…I’m pregnant. It wasn’t something that Adam and I had planned to happen so soon, but it did, and we’re ecstatic!

So holla to my brides this year, you’ll notice the photographer you met last year has gotten a little ‘bigger’. But no worries ladies, your pictures will still be fabulous even though I’ll be carrying around some “extra baggage”. Can’t wait to see you all in your gorgeous-ness!

I’m about 15 weeks along, so I’m just entering my second trimester and am feeling a lot better than I did the first. I’m due around mid-August, August 16th to be exact. Adam and I saw the first ultrasound two weeks ago and we were in awe, but until that point it didn’t seem real to us at all. But when we first saw it on the monitor, it was moving around so much – we could see it’s hands, feet and heartbeat pumping away like crazy.

We’ve decided that we don’t want to find out the sex of the baby so we’ve given it the nickname ‘Ninja’. So listen up baby Ninja, although your parents are scared and still feel like kids on the inside, we can’t wait to meet you to teach and show you everything we know! Have fun in there…see you in 6 months.
