The prettiest weed of them all…

Oh man, the weather this week has been ama-aaazing wouldn’t you say??? I think in the past few days it’s been hotter than any of the summer days back in 2009. Gotta love it. Everyone is out and about riding their bikes, playing in the park and working on their yards. Many people pull out those ‘pesky’ dandelions that consume their lawn – unless you’re one of the disciplined one’s that have that oh-so-perfect lawn…I envy you.

We live close by to a neighbourhood park which currently hasn’t had it’s routine ‘grooming’ so the weeds have been growing like crazy – to the point where when you drive by, it looks like a field of soft puffy cotton balls that you just want to jump into. To me, those puffy looking cotton balls are the prettiest weeds out there. As a child I remember making a bouquet full of them and just running through the park, looking behind me to see a soft floating stream of dreams following me (I know that sounds super cheesy but it’s true!). When I see kids blowing them and having fun with them, I think back to those days where you didn’t know those things were ‘ugly’ or called ‘weeds’. You took them as they were and used your imagination to see the true beauty it had.

I’ve been eyeing this field of “dent de lion’s” for a few days now hoping that the city maintenance man doesn’t come by to cut it because I wanted to take some pictures of our furry babies in them. So this evening Adam and I took the time and walked Sumo and Magnus to the park at sunset to have some fun. When we got there some of the dandelions were so high they were up to my knees…awesome. Enjoy the pics.

The fall is here…sighhh. There is just something about the crisp fall air that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. This season gives me more reason to pull out all my hoodies, jogging pants, and fleece pajamas…if you don’t know me, my ultimate happiness is being in comfy clothes and runners. Watching the trees change from their lush greens to their warm rainbow of autumn colours makes any walk or drive a pleasant one.

Today, Adam and I took our furry son’s out for a walk. While out and about I decided to dress them up for Hallows’ Eve. Happy Halloween everyone!

Magnus is dressed for the upcoming season after fall….it’s never too early to start decorating for Christmas!!!

SUMO IS 5!

Looky, looky everyone, Sumo is 5 today! Time has flown by and I can still remember bringing him home and fitting in the palms of my hands. I treat him like my own child, is that wrong? – I don’t think so…Am I a little crazy about pugs – YES!!! Ask anyone. Hmmm, perhaps buying a farm and breeding pugs will be in my future? Imagine that, surrounded by pugs everyday, being snorted on and listening to a harmony of snores at night….heaven…told you I was crazy.

I bought him a decadent dog cookie from the pet store for his special day. Mmmm, looks good enough for humans to eat.

Happy 5th Birthday my Noonie, I love you SO MUCH!
