What a week for Zen

This past week was a tough one for my lil’ guy. He was sick all last week to the point where he needed to be hospitalized overnight. It hurt me just watching him getting poked with needles and swabs, but he took it like a champ.

Here is an iphone picture of him at bedtime watching Toy Story on t.v. (sorry about the quality, dim light = poor quality)

Zen is a lot better now and is slowly getting his spunk back – I missed that about him while he was sick. Now he’s on his feet again, laughing and chasing me around the house like he used to. There is still some recovery time needed, but with the ways things are going he’ll be 100% very soon.:)

Not only was his sickness tough, it was a tough decision for Adam and I to have his hair cut – but it finally happened. We didn’t want to cut it because we wanted it to grow it out to see what it would look like, but the back of his head would turn into a matted mess that we finally gave in for a “trim”.

So this past weekend my sister came for a visit and I had asked her to cut Zen’s hair since she was a pro at doing it for her friends in the past. It was heartache for Adam and I to watch it get cut but I think it looks good for the time Zen gave us (he started to fuss after a few snips as you’ll see below).

Zen, one day I’ll have my way with your hair and you’ll have the mullet-mohawk I’ve always pictured for you OR in your father’s eyes, a shaved head with a long braided ponytail in the back. Yes people, we are weird parents.

Enjoy the pics everyone.

I have an addiction.

My name is Lisa.. L-I-S-A …and I’m addicted to Pinterest.

I guess you could say I need a PIN-TERVENTION (ok, bad joke, I know).

If some of you are in the dark about what Pinterest is, it is your very own virtual pin board where you can pin anything on the internet that strikes your fancy, and share it with your followers. Once you hop down that rabbit hole, don’t expect to ever come back out. It is like digital crack because once you start, you CANNOT STOP. You’ll find yourself sitting there for three hours straight pinning away…you pinners out there know what I’m talking about. Don’t deny it!

I took a screenshot of what I have pinned so far and I have a lot… like, alot-ALOT. Since I started last year, I have 56 boards, 5053 pins and 232 Likes – ehhh-gewww! Pinterest definitely makes me laugh, learn, and share the hopes, dreams and desires for myselfI have boards that are themed Artwork, Recipes (successful finds here!), DIY (successes!!), Words to Live by, Fitness, and the list goes on. Sometimes I think Pinterest will turn me into Martha Stewart, minus her hair-do and forced smile.

If you’re hooked or even interested in this so called “digital crack” , please, come and join me…I promise you it will be a trip you’ll never forget!  ;).

I have a problem…and I love it.

Zen on Family Day

I love Family Day, even more so since we’ve had Zen. It’s a day to spend time with your loved one’s and create memories to remember for years to come. That afternoon Adam, Zen and I went out for a little shoot. Adam and I didn’t know what was in Zen that day but he had the determination to walk wherever the road took him, nothing could stand in his way. Perhaps he wanted to walk home where it was nice and warm?

Enjoy the pictures everyone.

I think it’s safe to say that my husband is a big child at heart. As you can see in the picture below he likes to use our son as a hurdle. *sigh…

I want to eat him!

Checking out the long shadows…

One of my favs from that day…

Ready to fly Zen?…

I love him…boogers, drool and all…xoxoxo.
