Jill + Todd – Wedding

Jill and Todd were married at The Berkeley in Toronto. Gorgeous, gorgeous venue! Not only did they have their ceremony and reception there, they also had their first look there too. I had never done one before but it is such a great idea. For those who aren’t familiar with what a first look is; the bride and groom have the chance to privately meet and to see each other dressed for the wedding just before the ceremony. It provides a great opportunity to see each other on your momentous day, before that walk down the aisle.

Other reasons why a first look is a great idea is it allows you to take great wedding photographs ahead of time on your wedding day so you can have a less stressful and relaxed schedule. I found that taking the time before the Wedding to shoot the couple photos, and bridal party photos made a huge difference in the pictures and the Wedding day experience.

As you’ll notice below, we were able to take a variety of pictures in different locations at The Berkley before the ceremony – we lucked out having the entire venue to ourselves. Wahoo! Thank you Sarah for helping me out.

Jill and Todd, thank you for letting me be a part of your special day. You two are charming in so many ways and you two were so natural in front of the camera – all the best to you both! xoxo.

Jill had her wedding dress custom made. Isn't it gorrrgeous? I fell in LOVE with it when I first laid my eyes on it.

Make-up and hair done by the talented Ivy Lam.

Bouquets...uhhh yah...LOVE!!!

Anticipating the first look!

Loved the natural light in this room.

Gorgeous Bride!

It’s been a week since we’ve been back from Disney and I miss it already. Even though we were gone for a week it felt like we didn’t get to see everything Disney had to offer. I think the next time we go we’ll have to spend at least two weeks there to really absorb everything. Zen was such a trooper as we made him go meet the characters out and about; waiting in line to get his picture taken with them and to get them to sign his autograph book his Nana bought him. So as you’ll see below we only posted some of the pictures we took with point and shoot cameras. I would have posted more THE ONE DAY we met a lot of characters I had gotten my face painted as a fairy with Mickey ears on so I kind of looked like a dork (believe me I stood out way more than the character themselves sometimes). Ok, I included ONE picture so you can all have a visual. Gah!

As for Cathy’s 50th birthday, her wish came true – all of her grandkids were there for her special day. We hope you had a great time Cathy because we sure did. “Hooop-Deee-Dooooo, Hoop-Deee-dooooo!”;)

Eeeeeek!...see what I mean?! And this isn't that bad...Now just imagine some Mickey ears on me too...

Zen taking a nap while we ride the merry-go-round.

I took these shots below with some of the paraphernalia we bought from Disney – mainly things for Zen of course. A throw, a onesie, Mickey ears, stuffed Mickey and don’t worry, the sword you see Zen playing with isn’t real or sharp. We got it at Cinderella’s castle when we had lunch there.

Can't wait to go back when I'm a big boy!

“When you wish upon a star…”

“…Makes no difference who you are.

Anything you heart desires,

Will come to you…”

When I hear this song I immediately think of Walt Disney. I see Cindrella’s Castle in all it’s glory with fairy dust in the sky. Well today, we are leaving for a week to visit Mickey and all his friends at Walt Disney World. It’s my mother-in-law’s 50th birthday and going to Disney with all her grandkids was her wish. She is definitely a child at heart.:)  I have never been to Disney before but can’t wait to see what they have in store. The one thing I’m determined to get is a pair of baby Mickey ears for Zen. Even though he won’t remember this trip to Disney at least he’ll have a souvenir.

Soooo “Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to Disney I go…” – I know, cheeeeesy, but it was fitting to end this blog post! I’ll have pictures to post when I get back. I will be away from the office from January 12th – January 20th.
